Questions About The Board
We are looking at membership at the moment as we don’t believe we have enough people who can make decisions from organisations.
The Board is chaired by an elected member who is the person who has responsibility in the Council for health and social care. Our Chair is Councillor Brenda Hindmarsh who is now Sheriff of Newcastle
We are very lucky to have two Councillors involved in and very committed to our work Councillor Liz Langfield has now taken over responsibility as Council Portfolio Holder for health and social care.
Chris and Brenda

The Board is co-chaired by a person with a learning disability Up to June 2009 this has been Mr Chris Anderson who has done a fabulous job for three past four years . Our grateful thanks go to Chris and we hope he will still come to the Board meetings as a guest whenever he feels like it!
A new Co – chair will be elected later in 2009 . The Co chair will be elected from one of the champions who now serve on the Board
We have also had a Deputy Co Chair, Ms Barbara Chapman for the last four years who has also decided to step down. We shall miss Barbara very much Again, we are hoping Barbara will come to some meetings as a guest.
Barbara

We will review whether we still need a Deputy Co Chair.
We are looking at the membership of the Board again as part of the work we are doing to make Valuing People Now happen. We’ll post the new line up of members when we have done this work.
